Family to Family Education Class

NAMI Family-to-Family is a free, 8-session education program for family, friends and significant others of adults with mental health conditions. NAMI Family-to-Family provides information about anxiety, depressive disorders, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder and other mental health conditions. Other topics covered include communication, problem solving, treatment and recovery. The course was written by experienced family members and mental health professionals, and is taught by family members who have completed the course and have a loved one with a mental health condition. They are specially trained to teach the course to others.

The course is designed to increase understanding and advocacy skills while helping participants maintain their own well-being. NAMI Family-to-Family is an evidence-based program (EB). For information on the research base for the program, visit nami.org/research.

  1. When is your next family to family class beginning? Do you have Peer to Peer classes as well?

    1. Next Family to Family class will be early 2023. We have a peer class called Peer to Peer which will also be starting in early 2023. You can register for both using our website under classes-programs.

  2. I’m looking for help. My daughter was an active bad alcoholic and Crystal Meth user. She went through the detox and rehabilitation program at Tarzana Treatment Center.
She’s doing well except she now thinks she is in the FBI. She get messages in her head about what she needs to do and say. Has anyone else experienced something like this with a family member that is clean from substances but has these psychotic events?
