Roberta Griego’s journey with NAMI Ventura County began with a Family-to-Family class in November of 2012 after her stepson experienced a mental health crisis. Roberta and her husband Ernie have been active members of NAMI Ventura County since 2013.  Roberta retired from public service in the spring of 2013 after 39.5 years with the County of Ventura – Clerk of the Board of Supervisors office.

In 2021 Roberta took on the role of Executive Director, following a two-year stint as Director of Operations, Community Outreach & Development. Before joining the staff, she served on the

NAMI Ventura County Board of Directors as Vice President and Chair of Special Projects. Roberta has also been the Ventura County NAMIWalks manager since 2014.

Roberta is a strong supporter of the NAMI’s mission to advocate, educate, support. She believes in the power of increasing public awareness so all individuals and families affected by mental illness can build better lives.
