Patricia Pape, President

“I’m looking forward to being a part of the changing perceptions of mental health and demystifying the challenges that families and persons living with a mental health challenge face.

It’s been an honor to be selected for the Board of NAMI Ventura County and am looking forward to building relationships and supporting our community in this capacity.”

Patti Pape is a mother of five and a lifelong educator in Ventura County as a teacher and administrator. She is a LGBTQ+ advocate and an advocate for appropriate special education and cultural equality in education.

I have experienced mental health issues both personally and professionally and want to bring about changes in legislation, treatment and awareness of the great things that can happen in a community when we share our stories and get involved in reform. My 30+ year career in education as a leader and teacher have brought me special understanding in how systems work, circumstances we need to get in front of and how we can lobby for funding to further our cause.

She is a member of the club of Parents with Children Who Have Chosen Suicide and is a supporter of services for underserved populations as a Ventura County-board member of El Centrito Family Learning Centers and the Channel Islands Gulls.
